More sad news this week. We have lost more construction workers due to jobsite accidents. There are again, no words to describe the loss of a worker and the sadness we are all feeling inside. Families are devastated by these horrible accidents which claim their loved ones.
The losses have occurred over the last 2 days have affected us all. Our members have enough to deal with on jobsites. Fighting against the invisible enemy of Covid isn’t enough, we must now face the devastating losses caused by workplace accidents.
Our deepest and most sincere condolences go out to the family of the worker who perished at Ontario Tech University in Oshawa.
Our further condolences and prayers also go out to the families of the worker who perished in the downtown core of Toronto.
Our hearts are heavy at this time. Please keep yourselves safe out there. Safety is the responsibility of all of us. Support one another, we are all brothers and sisters on the jobsite and we are all we have. If you know the families suffering these losses, please reach out and offer any help or support you can. Christmas will forever be changed for them. It should be a time of love and hope and joy, not a time of sorrow and grief.
Be extra vigilant on the job. Be extra careful. Be extra aware.
