The following articles, presentations, and research offers medical information regarding common musculoskeletal injuries that are strongly associated with the physical demands of electrical work. IBEW Local 353 also added to this body of research, as co-investigator of the Buddies in Bad Times study which examined the role coworkers play in an injured workers return to work. And the IBEW CCO position paper that Gary Majesky co-authored and presented to the Tony Dean Task Force on amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act. We have also provided leading medical science from New Zealand examining the clinical and legal problems associated with apportioning liability (denying claims) because of pre-existing conditions. This research is being used in response to the WSIBs new policies on pre-existing conditions. Finally, there is important documentation regarding Heat Stress, MSD prevention, and Safe Voltage that electrical workers are routinely exposed.
